The water stands on a drain and runs off very slowly. If you remove the insert/lid, the water runs off immediately. What could be the cause?
The cause is the lack of ventilation in the relevant section of the pipe. The air can only escape with difficulty or not at all. If the local conditions allow it, you can create additional ventilation or drill a 2-3 mm hole in the centre of the cover as an immediate measure.
Does a backwater valve have to be maintained?
Yes, every backwater valve, whether single or double, should be checked at least once every six months. In case of dirt and debris, remove the cover, clean the parts, check the seals and replace damaged parts. We recommend a complete check at least every 12 months.
For which types of wastewater are the backwater valves suitable?
The single and double backwater valves may only be installed in pipes with faecal-free wastewater.
