Flush water is running - what now?

Let’s fix that…

A quickly resolved defect: If flush water keeps running, it is usually a simple solution.

Our tip:

  • Check to see if the fill height is set too high on the fill valve. In this case, the water is running down the overflow before the valve can close. Correct the setting – finished.
  • Perhaps a foreign object has lodged at the drainage seal. This is especially common with hard water. Close the corner valve to interrupt filling. Now you can remove the flush plate. Loosen the bayonet closure of the drainage vent a quarter turn. Now you can see the valve much closer and remove the foreign object.
  • Possible defect under the seal. Look to see if a tear or deposit is covered. Clean the seal and change it if it is defective. Inexpensive replacements are available at the building outlet.
